Get Free Shoe Size Charts →Step 2: Print the PDF at 100% scale
It's vital to print out your shoe size chart PDF at 100% scale. Otherwise when you stand on the chart to measure your foot you will get the wrong shoe size.
Each shoe sizer PDF has 2 pages and there's a 1 inch or 2 cm square on both pages, so you can easily tell you printed it at the right size. Just get a ruler & make sure the side of the square is exactly the right length.
Print the shoe size chart in color ideally, because some of the instructions on the printable refer to different colors.
But you can also print it in black and white instead, and just look for the shaded parts or check it against the PDF file to see the colors.
Step 3: Make your shoe size measuring chart
- First, fold back the bottom of page 1 along the black dotted line. Or you can cut across this line instead if you prefer.
- Then, place page 1 on top of page 2, lining the bottom of page 1 up with the black dotted line near the top of page 2.
- Tape the 2 pages together to make 1 long sheet.
- Finally, fold back the bottom of page 2 along the black line. Or cut across this line instead if you like.
Your printable shoe size chart is now ready to use.
These instructions are also included on the printable, labelled as steps 1-3.

Step 4: Stand with one foot on the paper
It's best to measure your feet:
- in the afternoon or evening, as your feet swell slightly through the day.
- wearing socks or tights you usually wear with shoes
Place the back end of the shoe size chart (the end with the step 3-5 instructions) flush against a wall on a hard floor (tiles or wood flooring, not carpet).
Now stand against the wall, placing one foot on the paper shoe size chart.
So the back of your foot should line up with the back of the paper, flush against the wall.
This step is labelled Step 3 & 4 near the end of the printable.
Step 5: Read off your shoe size
Look for the horizontal stripe where the very top of your big toe is. If it's very close to the top of the stripe, choose the stripe above your big toe instead.
The number in that stripe is your shoe size.
TIP: If you're not sure which stripe to pick, hold a ruler across the top of your big toe and your shoe size is the number in the stripe the ruler is in.
Most people's feet are slightly different lengths, so be sure to measure both feet.
Make a note of which foot is bigger as that's handy to know when trying on shoes.
If your left and right foot are different shoe sizes, you usually need to buy the bigger shoe size to fit both feet.
Heads up: not all shoe brands use standard shoe sizing
Note: this printable shoe size chart uses the original formulas for the UK, US & European shoe size systems1. In the real world, different brands have their own shoe sizing unfortunately.
You can use this shoe size chart to measure your feet at home and find your US, UK and European standard shoe size. This is useful to know for shoe brands around the world and it should be a good guide for brands that run true to size.
But if a shoe brand gives foot length measurements or has their own printable foot measuring chart, always go by that instead.
Step 6: Find your shoe width
Put your foot fairly central on the page, using the red vertical line running down the shoe size chart as a guide.
If the widest part of your foot:
- fits within the central white area below the horizontal stripes, medium or standard width shoes should fit you.
- goes into the thick green lines on either or both sides, you should look for wide shoes or, failing that, try a size up in standard shoes.
- goes outside the green lines, you should look for extra wide shoes.
Note that unlike shoe lengths, there is no standard formula for shoe widths, and they can vary depending on the brand and shoe style.
This printable women's shoe size chart is based on shoe widths used by multiple women's shoe brands. So hopefully it's useful as a general guideline to help work out which width shoes you need.
