Update 18 August: The Long Tall Sally brand has been sold & will continue under new ownership from 1 September 2020.

It was a shock when Long Tall Sally announced mid June that it was closing after 44 years.

Over the years I've sadly seen many niche large size shoe retailers disappear. But LTS was synonymous with tall clothing. Long established, they had bought up several competitors over the years & were the go-to brand for many tall women.

So the impending closure has caused much anxiety & concern. It's bad enough when your height limits your fashion buying options, but when the brand you relied on for so many years vanishes, where can you find tall clothes now?

Closing Down Sale

One small silver lining is that Long Tall Sally are having a closing down sale with up to 60% off everything. They won't be receiving any new stocks, so this is the last chance for Long Tall Sally fans to stock up.

LTS aim to continue trading until the end of August, but that could change & of course styles could sell out quite quickly.

Facebook Group: Now LTS is closing, what’s the alternative?

Vicky Chevis has set up a private Facebook group called Now LTS is closing, what's the alternative? which already has over 700 members. It's a great place for tall women to get help from others & share their favourite shops & brands.

Vicky has also started a campaign to encourage more retailers to have tall clothing & footwear ranges. A working group has already been set up to focus on specific aspects. The more people who get involved the better. Every voice matters, so join the Facebook Group & make yours count.

Here are some other helpful online resources for tall women I've found lately:

Find alternative shoe shops for your size

If you want to find shoes in size 9 UK / 11 US / 43 Eur +, check out the Pretty Big Shoes shops directory. As well as filtering by your size, you can view shops selling narrow width shoes, flats or low heels.

Note that I am currently working on improving the directory search & adding more shops. Join the mailing list if you want to know when the new directory launches.
